Bandwidth fair use
Learn about our unlimited bandwidth policy.
Horizon is committed to providing unlimited bandwidth to its users while maintaining fair use policies. We recognize that bandwidth is a valuable resource, and we strive to ensure that all users have equal access to it.
Horizon.pics defines "unlimited bandwidth" as a service in which users can upload and download files without any limitation on the amount of data transferred, subject to reasonable usage restrictions set forth in this policy.
The text below, marked by collapsible sections prefixed with a chevron, provides non-legally binding summaries of the policy. You can expand each section by clicking on it.
This policy allows Horizon to take actions when necessary to prevent bad actors from abusing the service's bandwidth resources. We won't enforce this unless the service faces reasonable threat to degraded user experiences.
Horizon.pics reserves the right to monitor bandwidth usage by users and take appropriate actions to prevent any misuse or abuse of the service. This policy is designed to ensure that all users have access to adequate bandwidth to use the service, while at the same time preventing excessive usage that can affect the performance of the platform for other users. Horizon's terms and conditions also apply to usage of the service.
If you're using the service as it is intended without malice, you're probably fine. Horizon allows you to share media as you need, including in high-traffic scenarios, such as posting on large social media accounts or linking on popular websites. What's not OK is intentionally attempting to degrade the experience for other users.
The following activities are strictly prohibited and can result in the suspension or termination of user accounts:
- Uploading or downloading excessive amounts of data that consume a significant portion of the platform's available bandwidth, causing a slowdown in the platform's performance for other users.
- Maliciously consuming bandwidth resources in an attempt to degrade the quality of the service.
If we detect a user who has the potential to or is causing service disruption, we may temporarily limit their bandwidth usage by, including, but not limited to, throttling, halting or termination.
To ensure fair and equitable access to bandwidth for all users, Horizon.pics may implement reasonable usage restrictions on users who are found to be consuming excessive amounts of bandwidth. These restrictions may include but are not limited to:
- Limiting the number of simultaneous file transfers for users.
- Reducing the speed of data transfer for users.
- Temporarily suspending or terminating the accounts of users who repeatedly violate this policy.
