How do I share a folder?

Learn how to share a folder with multiple files.

Horizon's folders help organize your files, like event photos and videos. You can generate shareable public links to make them accessible online.

How do I create and share a folder?

  1. Log into the Horizon Dashboard.
  2. Locate the button underneath the Horizon Multi Bar.
  3. In the dropdown below the button, click the button.
  4. In the form that appears, enter the name for your folder.
  5. After clicking "Create Folder", the form will disappear and you will see the new folder above all of your files.

  6. Select files using the checkboxes in the top left corner of each file card.
  7. Underneath the Horizon Multi Bar, click the button.
  8. In the modal that appears, select the folder you want to move the files to and click the button.
  9. After clicking "Move", the files will no longer show by default on the My Horizon Dashboard. You can still access these files by navigating to the folder you moved them to. You can always move the files out of the folder to restore the default viewing behaviour.

  10. Double-click on the folder to open it.
  11. Click the button in the top right folder menu bar.
  12. Click "Start Sharing" to generate a public link.
  13. Click the button to copy the link to your clipboard for sharing.
  14. When sharing a folder, anyone with the link will be able to view and download the contents of the folder. They won't be able to modify the contents of the folder.

You remain in control at all times. You can return to this folder in your Dashboard and click on "Stop Sharing" to permanently revoke the link and disallow public viewing access. If you decide to share it again, the link will be regenerated uniquely, preventing those with the old link from being able to re-access the folder without your permission.
