Start uploading files

Learn how to use the Horizon uploader for your media.

Prerequisites

To start uploading files to Horizon, you need to have an account. If you don't have one yet, you can sign up.

Using the Uploader

With Horizon, you can upload all kinds of files ranging from photos and videos to quarterly earning report PDFs. Using the Horizon uploader, you can select multiple files at a time and upload them in parallel to save time. Each file you upload will be assigned a unique URL that you can share with your peers for fast and easy access.

  1. Log into the Horizon Dashboard.
  2. Locate the "Upload File" button underneath the Horizon Multi Bar.
  3. Action buttons: Create and Upload File
  4. After clicking this button, you'll see an operating system popup allowing you to select files.
  5. To select one file, just locate it and double click it to continue. To select multiple files, you may need to employ system shortcuts, such as holding down CMD or Ctrl. It varies by operating system.

  6. Once selected, your files will immediately start uploading to Horizon.
  7. If you're a Horizon Everest member, you can upload files up to several gigabytes (GB) in size. Large files will be sent with fault-tolerance, so if your connection drops, these uploads should seamlessly continue for up to 24 hours as long as the tab is active.

  8. Upon upload completion, each file's bar will be solid lavender in colour, and an icon will appear for that file.
  9. Each file is given a unique link that allows you to share it with anyone anywhere. Clicking on a successful upload will automatically open the file in a new tab. If you want to copy the link, simply right click and click "Copy Link", or the equivalent button on your browser.
